Brian I've offered them/her several times over the years and am worn down by that channel . There may be a victory party website one day as they seem to be common in family collections. . Bensham Grove Association has taken a copy of a painting of the Grove garden we had which they use in their displays and servant photos of Peter's granny and grandad who worked there but their interest is specific to the Spence Watsons. i also have gardening books given to Peter's grandad by the Spence Watsons and a letter from Peter's granny describing how she cared for Mrs Spence Watson when she was dieing and had to reat her ulcerated legs. She absolutely idolised Elizabeth Spence Watson. I offered Denton library some photos of the family farm at Dumpling hall which is now a modern housing estate but they didn't need them either. I can't be the only person who has these little nuggets tucked away doomed to be lost. But at least I've tried. The Hubert Terrace party was a great one. The girls are dressed up as nurses and there is bunting and decoration all over the Bensham terrace. I also have lots of unscanned photos of the "ladies" of St Cuthberts church in the 50s and 60s. On retreats to Allendale, marching into Durham cathedral and looking very formidable in front of the old rectory. One funny press clipping we have is when Peter's Grandad William Brewis the verger found a stark naked man on the altar circa 1950 at St Cuthberts and the vicar reports to the Evening Chroncle that Mr Brewis has had to go and have a lie down due to the shock of seeing this.
