Looking at the marriage certificate dated November 13th, 1847 of my GG grandparents - William Maxwell Dixon b. 1822 in Newcastle and Mary Ann Johnson at Earsdon I noticed that he had been a widower . Recently I searched on the Free BMD but could not find an earlier marriage . I remembered years ago a helpful lister had sent me an 1841 census note of William with another spouse ( Marjorie I believe ) but I knew that he was married to Mary Ann so I did not keep that information ...foolish mistake . If anyone has access to the 1841 census I would appreciate a lookup . Cheers, Dorothy on Vancouver Island
