    3. All Hoping someone can help me find Francis JOLLEY/JOLLY on the 1871 census or earlier On the 1881 he is Francis JOLLEY (or perhaps more likely, should be JOLLY) with his wife Elizabeth Jolley (formerly widow Tweddle, nee Falcus). He is supposedly aged 31 on the 1881 census but when he dies in 1905 he is given as being 64 years old so his birth year is either 1840/1 or 1850/1 and the 1881 Census states he was born in Scotland. In 1881 with his wife Elizabeth he also had children Sarah Jolley aged 8, Francis Jolley aged 6, Elizabeth A Jolley aged 3 and Agnes Jolley aged 5 months. Francis Jolley did not marry widow Elizabeth Tweddle until 1881so I am unsure whether this is his second marriage. (the 1911 Census shows widow Elizabeth Jolly still alive and the census entry has the fact that there were 5 children to the 'marriage' of which three were still living, the enumerator has crossed this entry out as it was not required - the fifth child being son Aylmer Jolley born 1884, so it might be that he was living with widow Elizabeth Tweddle as man and wife, Elizabeth Tweddle was widowed in 1869) Help!!! Mike Fairless

Joan This is way off topic for the NORTHUMBRIA list. Nothing should be posted here which doesn't relate to the counties of Northumberland & Co Durham. 3. Brian, I was answering a question of a lister who asked today about Francis Jolly of Hexham born in Scotland. Sorry I didn't think to reply off list.. I am accustomed to lists where questions relevant to a family living in an English county but born in Scotland would be answered on the County list. I only stayed on this list in case I could help someone. I hoped I finally had. I am at a lost to know, why under any circumstances, you would berate someone anyway, when your list has almost no traffic to begin with . You should be glad for any action. I know things can get out of hand and you have to keep track of things, but I have noticed you carry it to extremes offending many people unnecessarily. I have been on 20 or more lists in past years . Please reread the question I was answering to see to what I was referring. I will, of course, unsub immediately.
