Hi All I have recently found a family handwritten note book dating back to 1815. In it is a page headed "Cow witched" and it reads as follows ;- "Cream three spoons full in the cow. Three spoonfuls buried where a foot will never tread. Three spoonfuls in the fire. Stop every hole in the house up And the One will cum to the door." The family lived in Newcastle so it may be a North East thing. It reads like a spell but what is Cow Witched any ideas would be most welcome. Does anyone have any idea what this is about or can you advise me where to look. Dick Hutchinson
