Dear List, I would be grateful if some kind soul, when on a visit to Durham County Record Office, could look up the marriage of Jonathan Martin and record it for me. Jonathan Martin [1782-1838], who set fire to York Minster in 1829, has had his life recorded in a number of books but none have given the full name of his first wife or the date of marriage. On the on-line IGI there is a marriage at St. Mary the Virgin, Norton near Stockton on Tees between Jonathan Martin and Martha Carter on 1st. August 1812. I hope someone will be willing to look up this marriage on the microfilm of Norton parish registers. With thanks in anticipation. Mildred Robson
