You'll need to check with the County Record Office/main library for the area concerned to see if the register you want still exists.. Of course it's important to remember that children are never listedon electoral registers, and that prior to 1928, not all adults were listed either. The voting qualifications were: 1832 Men owning property worth £2 per year or more. 1867 Men owning/renting property worth £5 per year or more. 1884 Men owning/lodging in property worth £10 per year or more. 1918 Men over 21, women over 30, servicemen over 19. 1928 Everybody over 21. 1969 Everybody over 18. Prior to 1832 there were poll books which were compiled after elections and showed how everyone had voted. They are of limited value to genealogists because very few people were entitled to vote at that time.
