Hi Keith Try St Anne's. However please note there are gaps and omissions in all the online BTs I have viewed so you need to check the actual parish records also. Sometimes people were buried further afield than you might expect so you then need to work your way outwards. Good luck Ingrid On 27/02/2010, at 4:09 AM, Keith Walker <keith.walker47@ntlworld.com> wrote: > > Two of the Myers family died in 1838, but where would they be > buried, they are not in the All Saints records

I use this resource and Ireland BMDs on the same site almost daily, it's invaluable. To access the BTs go to http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/ Click on "Browse our record collections" Click on Europe Click on "England, Diocese of Durham Bishops' Transcripts" Navigate to the parish of interest - and dive in. There are many other fascinating record sets there for other areas of the UK and other countries - off topic here, but well worth exploring. hello list I have worked out how to change the image number to save going through all the images on Record search pilot Go into record search pilot bring up the parish you require change the image number and press enter on your keyboard....it does not work by clicking a mouse the above also only works on the small image and not the full screen hope this is useful to any one using the search records regards keith walker
Hello List I have a MYERS family who were living in the Keelmans hospital in 1838 where my gg.grandmother was a cook All of the Myers children were baptised at All Saints Newcastle between 1814 and 1838 Two of the Myers family died in 1838, but where would they be buried, they are not in the All Saints records any information to point me in the right direction would be gratefully received regards keith walker

Hi John, Its something that we might never know! I have George MARLEY who went from being a miner on the 1861 Census to a Confectioner at the Side Newcastle on the 1871 Census. You could try and look at land/farm records which may give some clues. I'm hoping someone can help. I'm trying to trace the parents/family of Ann MacDonald, (known as Annie but listed as Ann at marraige). She married my GGG Grandfather John Cairns. Im at a loss to find an Ann MacDonald (or Annie/McDonald) in the census records for the Rothbury or surrounding area in 1871/1881. I'm also hopefully someone may also have access to the marraiges records for the Rothbury area. As the records indicated that they were married Apr-May-Jun 1888, this may indicate her parents. The information I have collated from a basic search so far is as follows :- Ann (Annie) MacDonald c. 1865 Rothbury, Northumberland (from 1891/1901 Census) Ann (Annie's) Parents were ??????? I was told that she lived at the 'Bell' near Alwinton in her later years, (not sure where this was, the only references to Bell I can find are, Watty Bells Cairn and Bell Hill). Married Apr-May-Jun 1888 in Rothbury Northumberland, England Lived at Whitton Hill Head Cottage, Rothbury, Northumberland in 1891 (from 1891 Census ref.RG12/4272 Folio 95 P9) Lived at High Farnham, Near Alwinton in 1901 (from 1901 Census ref.RG13/4852 Folio 26 P5) Her husband's info........ Hi! I have just rejoined the list after several years and am keen to pick up information about my family. My SNOWDON ancestors were in Haltwhistle before 1700 and left about 1865. A particular question relates to the marriage of John SNOWDON to Frances ARMSTRONG in 1753. Frances' maiden name was SPROAT and she was the daughter of John and Jane and born in 1728. Who was her first husband and when did he die? John SNOWDON had also been married earlier and had two sons, John and Robert. Who was his first wife and when did she die? I am sure there will be more questions or perhaps I can help someone else. Maurice Snowdon in Sheffield

Hi Could someone let me know how I can contact either the church in Lanchester or library there. I would like to see if my Eliza. Jane HANEY and/or husband James E. HANEY are buried there thanks. Also does anyone know if there are local papers in Lanchester that may have obituraries/death notices for family members. Much appreciated kind regards Dianna

Dianna It is extremely unlikely that the church or Lanchester Library will be able to help you because the old burial registers (up to 1928 I believe) have been transferred to Durham County Record Office in Durham City. This office also has microfilm copies of the registers up to 1987 and has a research service for those who cannot visit personally. http://nd.durham.gov.uk/recordoffice Brian -- Brian Pears (Gateshead, UK) http://www.bpears.org.uk/ Joint List Admin NORTHUMBRIA Genealogy Mailing List GENUKI Northumberland Maintainer

The reason is that the National Archives claim copyright over transcripts as well as images of census returns, but they waive the copyright of transcripts on condition that (a) the transcript is accurate and (b) that a full reference is quoted. Assuming that he was still alive and still working for Mr Lamb he should have been visible in the census's of 1861 and 1871 but I just can't find him. Have some details of the census's of those years in Ryton been lost or destroyed? Roger must have been living very close to John during that time, or does anyone have access to this information? The reason is that the National Archives claim copyright over transcripts as well as images of census returns, but they waive the copyright of transcripts on condition that (a) the transcripts are accurate and (b) that full references are quoted. Also, from a practical point of view, references enable others to navigate to the entry themselves more easily.
