Dear Rachael, Please don't worry about getting things "right." There are so many details involved in our searches that it just takes time, and the best way to learn is to ask questions, as you did. And it's a learning experience for all of us! I have been researching my father's Swedish roots for nearly 3 years and am just now at the point where my Irish and Scottish ancestors are becoming available to me for research. And even the differences in research from one country to another seem mind-boggling at times. One little "connection" builds onto another, and eventually things may come together. Just last night I had a contact with my Grandfather Priestley's niece in DE, who has yet another piece to that particular puzzle. My great-parents were both born in County Down, according to family records, but I'm slowly finding their roots are in Scotland before Ireland. It's like going on a treasure hunt with an aura of mystery involved. So much fun!!! Good luck to you! And I'll be interested in learning the methods of Irish research along with you! Cindy in VA
