Hi all I have been lurking for sometime and want to put forward my interests. Henrietta McEVOY/McELVOY/McELROY is my gggrandmother and she arrived in Melbourne on the Commodore Perry in August 1859 whack sailed from Liverpool in May 1959. Her place of birth is apparently County Antrim according to her marriage and death certificate. Her surname was spelt in many ways on her marriage, children's birth and death certificate. She was born c 1841, she could not write, was RC and a housemaid. She parents were Adam McEVOY/McELVOY/McELROY and Anne McDougall. This was an assisted voyage and she was contracted to work for 3 years when she arrived. There seemed to only be women on this voyage. I have done a lookup with the new trial LDS site without any joy. My questions are: Is anyone researching this family? Does anyone know about these assisted passages? How can I do more research about Co Antrim via the Internet?
