I am searching for the Father (Gearge ?) of JAMES BOTHWELL (15/9/1778-14/3/1855). Wife Anne (Fraser) (14/1/182-14/3/1858) who emigrated to Quebec (Departed "Derryport" 1847) with their 8 children. Their most likely Townland was in Countys: CAV,ARM,DON,MOG; with les pssibility for ANT, FER, MOG, LOU, and TYR. This search has been actively pursued for over 20 yrs., but now with the net I hope to reach drectly, and by word-of-mouth, the Bothwell Families who might still have a record of James or someone who could check a Church Record on a hunch. They attended Mehodist services after coming here.I am assuming James father was George only on the name of their eldest son. If any person reading this happens to know any Bothwells, it would be greatly appreciated if you would kindly let them know about our problem. As James 4GGrandchild, and with 3 1/2 grandchildren of my own, I would dearly like to be able someday to tell them about their true roots in Ireland. I hope that this doesnt sound like a "desperate plea for help", but unfortunately, IT IS. I do not have the means to go to NI myself or I would. ( If I could go Id sit down with a phone directory and call every Bothwell family I could find !)
