I have been carrying out research on my family for a number of years and I have discovered that my ggg grandfather James HENRY was born in Ireland in the early 1800s. He married Catherine (who was born in Ireland in 1800) around about the year 1820 and they had two children. John HENRY was born in 1826 and Ellen HENRY was born in 1833. Both children were listed as born in Ireland. Later the family moved from Ireland to England and settled in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. >From other family research I suspect the family originated from the area of Derry, however I can not substantiate this. Later their son John HENRY (my gg grandfather) married Alice O`NEILL (born Derry in 1820) on 13 February 1853 in Newcastle. John and Alice had 5 children including my g grandfather John HENRY who married Margaret Ann STEEL on 25 November 1873. Margaret`s parents were John and Catherine STEEL. John STEEL and his wife Catherine were both born in Derry in 1831. Probably married in Derry before moving to Jarrow in Co Durham about 1851 Any information or assistance on how I can obtain further details would be greatly appreciated.
