Is anyone ought there looking for the above families? The information I have is as follows: Oliver and Ann McIntyre Barr of Killowen Parish, Ballycairn, Coleraine. Oliver b about 1785, Ann b about 1800. She died November 14, 1872, in Coleraine. They were the parents of known children, Samuel b Aug 20, 1819 and James b June 3, 1826. Samuel came to the U.S. about 1836, settled in Georgia where he married Marie Gillen of Coleraine. They then moved to Kentucky. Marie Gillen was born on the Rock of Gibralter, Spain, on March 14, 1820. (It is believed that her father was serving in military service there.) Her parents were Patrick Gillen and Ann McCloskey of Dunboe Parrish, Benarees, Coleraine. Patrick died in 1857 and Ann died in 1870. They were the parents of the following known children: Marie, Andrew Jackson b 1824, Patrick Henry, William, John and Sarah. It is known that several of these children came to the U.S. I would be happy to exchange information with anyone working on these surnames in the North of Ireland, Coleraine area.
