    3. Here goes! Hello everyone. I have a problem, but then don't we all! My ggrandfather William PHILLIPS (Waterman) married my ggrandmother Elizabeth WAKEFIELD in LYMM,CHESHIRE,UK on 17 February 1878. He gave his age as 20 and his birthplace as GLASGOW. His father was given as a John PHILLIPS (Farmer). Extensive searches in GLASGOW & SCOTLAND before & after 1858 have turned up nothing. It has been put to me that William & family could have come over from ULSTER and that consequently William, presumably a child was not aware of this, hence GLASGOW. There were another couple of PHILLIPS's in LYMM , Marianne & Lydia ( ladies maids) both hailing from CRIEFF SCOTLAND according to the census of 1871. On the premise that William could have been related I had a search done in CRIEFF around the years of the girls' births again without success. William died aged 24 in 1882. My brother & I made it by 2 years in that my grandfather was born in 1880 - the only son! OK where and how do I begin the Ulster search? Can anyone help me?. Regards. Dennis. Dennis Phillips.
