Archibald (Archie) McCarroll and Mary Black married about 1819-1820 in Forthtown or Forttown, Ballymoney,Antrim, had 4 children there. In 1831 they arrived in Philadelphia, PA, USA, where Archibald was naturalized in 1836. Later the family started toward the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, USA with stops in Maryland and Jefferson Co., VA, now West Virginia.
