Since it has been some time since I posted this information I thought I would try again to see if anyone relates to it. My gggrandparents JAMES MC VICKER and his wife ELLEN MC KENNA emigrated to Providence RI USA ca 1850 with two children, Patrick age 6 and Peter age 4. I suspect they were from Co. Tyrone as reference has been made that some MC VICKER ancestors were employed by a LORD MOUTRAY,working on his "castle" at FAVOUR ROYAL.I have learned that J. C. MOUTRAY, Esquire of FAVOUR ROYAL and Sir BUNBURY BART were the Proprietors of the town (village) of AUGHER, Parish of CLOGHER, Co. Tyrone. The MOUTRAYS of FAVOUR ROYAL were one of the largest landowners in CLOGHER VALLEY (I don't know when). FAVOUR ROYAL also appears in ERRIGAL TROUGH. ERRIGAL TROUGH spills over to Co. Monaghan. MC KENNA seems to be a prevalent name in Co. Monaghan so it could be that JAMES MC VICKER was from Co.Tyrone and his bride ELLEN MC KENNA from Co. Monaghan. All of this information is loosely woven.
