Goodmorning, I am wondering if it would be possible for some kind soul to do me a really big favor. One of my ancestral families is from Kinghill. They moved into Kinghill from Drogheda about 1700 or so. About 1720 or so, John Truesdel leased 72 acres of farmland from John Newell and began farming and raising his family. He built a stone cottage on the property. About 1945 or so, Karl Truesdell, an ancestor, visited the area and made note that the cottage was still standing and in use, although enlarged and improved on. So, we know that the cottage was there for over 200 years. If someone lives near there, I would "really" appreciate it if you would take a look and see if you spot a very old stone cottage in the area. According to descriptions from both 1720 and 1945, the cottage is situated about four [4] miles east of Rahtfiland, on the Hilltown-Downpatrick Road. Thank you very much.
