Hi Eileen Thanks for your reply to my posting looking for the Nesbitt book. My great-great-grandmother was Margaret Nesbitt married to John Conboy. According to Glenn Lockwood's book "Beckwith",Thomas Armstrong and John Conboy arrived in Canada together aboard the PONSOBY in Dec. 1821. Both men were granted lots in Franktown by the Perth Military Depot. The book "Commemorative Biographical Record of the County of Lambton" contains records of families who moved from Lanark Co. to Lambton Co. Among them was John Nesbitt Jr.,son of John Nesbitt, brother of Margaret and Elizabeth, who moved to Lambton Co. in 1854. The book states that John Srs. parents were William Nesbitt and Mary Henderson from Co. Down, Ireland, and that William came to Canada in the early 1820s with 4 of his children - Betsy(Elizabeth), Margaret, John , and George after Mary died Records from St.James's Anglican Church in Carleton Place- Baptisms-William Conboy, son of John and Margaret Conboy was baptised, sponsors-William Conboy and Elizabeth Armstrong, also, James Armstrong, son of Thomas and Elizabeth was baptised -sponsors John and Margaret Conboy. The Armstrongs and Conboys lived on the same concession in Beckwith. I would be interested in any other information you have about the Armstrong family, I don't know much else about them. Thanks again for your help. Sorry to post to the list, but I have been unable to get through to you. Doreen
