I was informed from a history book in Ohio, USA, that my G.G.G.G.grandfather was in Northern Ireland. Left to be educated in England and then back to Northern Ireland and then on to Ovid, New York in America, where he married in 1809 there. I can't find anyone who seems to know if any Dowlings ever resided in Northern Ireland and perhaps what counties to check.
