Dear Jeremy, I have researched my mother's maiden suname of McQuatters on and off for about 5 years now. Her surname was spelled McWatters in Norhtern Ireland and was changed when our ancestors came to America in 1853-54. My McWatters came from the Newry, Co. Down area. The man's name was James McWatters and his wife's name was Jane Jardine McWatters. They settled in Indiana for 20 years before coming to northern Iowa for the rest of their lives. They raised 7 kids; the first one being born in Northern Ireland and coming over to America with his father. His name was William. He is my GGGrandfather. If you would like more info on the McWatters surname, let me know my e-mail is jntatkns@omnitelcom.com Thanks, Terri in Iowa
