    3. Greetings All: I was wondering if anyone has information on the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) or Brigham Young University DNA database project to trace families by using DNA, in Northern Ireland or Scotland. Have they been advertising the project or taking samples in those areas? If so, how is the response? Good, bad, small or large? Here in Dayton Ohio, their research team has collected several hundred, and maybe as many as 1300 samples and are still requesting more. Each donor must have researched a 4 generation family tree to match with the DNA sample. The sample is code numbered with no name of donor. When the database is completed, donors can request results by getting a request kit. In the kit is material to take a saliva or blood sample and send it to the database requesting results. This salive is used to verify the information is only sent to the original donor. It would be great to be able to link back to NIR or Scotland using the database they are building. Please let me know if they are collecting in County Down or SW Scotland. Mike Kennedy Dayton Ohio
