My ancestors, according to my mom, were Catherine SHERMAN; Her husband's (Hugh TREANOR) obit in 1882 says SHERLOCK. I've been told that Sherman was not an Irish name, perhaps the SHERLOCK is the more likely. Hugh was born in Ireland in 1800 or 1802. Catherine was born around 1810 in Ireland. They met and married in London 1828. Immigrated to Canada in 1832. Hugh's obit is conflicting. At one point, it says they were both born in northern Ireland, once it says in southern Ireland. I don't know where to start research abroad. Thanks for any advice or leads no matter how slight. Ellen
