That was true five years ago. I assume it still is.
Each film has several different items. Each item is extracted and given a Batch number. An item dealing with births and Christenings is given a batch number starting with "C" and then other numbers. A marriage item on the film starts with "M". By putting in the Batch number on my computer, I can read the extracted information at home. When I narrow down my search needs, I can then go to a Family History Library and spend my time looking at films and other sources.
