    2. Up until the 80s the local shop delivered. They also delivered the milk and would pick the book up on a Tuesday and Friday and then deliver the same afternoon, in a box, on my kitchen table so all I had to do what put it away. Now that was services. The Coop van also used to go round once a week and there was a shop in the next village. Some change from pushing a trolley with a mind of its own, putting it on the checkout, taking off, packing into bags and back into the trolley...out to the car ...whichever way the trolley wants to go but usually sidewards, and then into the boot....drive home, unpack into the kitchen and then into the cupboards....Life is certainly harder now.
