Hi Jean - yes - I had two CDs by Charlotte Church, which I liked very much, although I think her voice has a long way to go yet. But she is a very nice, unassuming girl and I wish her well. I gave my CDs to my sister when she was ill. They had a lot of stuff on them that we knew from years ago. I particularly like the one from Carmina Burrana - can't just think of it now. Charlotte sings it nicely, but Lesley Garrett is the one! Do you know the Welsh Baritone Bryn Terfel? He has a new CD coming out just now and it sounds wonderful, so I have put it on my Christmas List. All Welsh Songs. I think it is called "Land of Song" (Gwlad y Gan). I agree about Charlotte's voice but she is young yet. I know Dad would have disapproved of a young voice singing some of that repertoire in the grounds it might cause serious damage to her voice. I thought she was best in the church music as it suited her voice better. I have not heard of the your tenor. Maybe I should put him on my Christmas list too. My husband wants a Noel Coward CD. Not much chance of finding one in Halifax. At one store the clerk had never heard of him and the other store did not have any by him. I will ask my sister in law in Toronto to get one. Hi Jean, I wouldn't tell Bryn that he's a baritone, he thinks he's a tenor From Bryan, The Wild Celt, Dum Spiro - Spero. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jean White <jphwhite@ns.sympatico.ca> To: <NORTHERN-ENGLAND-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 19, 2000 2:25 AM Subject: Re: [NTH-ENG] Stainer's Crucifixion > Just noticed Bryn Terfel is a Baritone!
