    3. Remember that test message I sent ? well OE allows me to compose the message, it then brings up a window saying something wrong with my pop server etc.etc.. and in the meantime it has sent the message ! Then when I go to close OE my computer freezes, won't allow me to shut down normally or end task. Only way is to re-boot every time which is annoying. Can I uninstall OE some way, and then reinstall it without re-installing the whole of Windows ? Best wishes angela Cyprus

    3. Angela - this is a very common occurrence with Outlook Express. I have this problem all the time, but I do just re-boot. Then I get a message from Windows telling me because I didn't close down properly (I have usually had no alternative but to pull the plug out because everything is frozen solid) I now have to have this scan run. I mutter dark imprecations about "well you wouldn't let me - I would have loved to have closed down properly" etc. Sometimes it does let me return to windows without re-booting, depends what sort of a mood it is in. I used to blame BT, but perhaps it's just OE. I don't think reinstalling OE would make any difference. 3. Double, double check to see if ALL settings are exactly as your service provider sent you. I struggled for two weeks peering at the settings and just could not see one of mine said pop3.net [or something] instead of just pop.net. All ISP settings are different.
