Course yer can Penny. I've never had a recipe for your American pot roast, but I've heard lots of people raving on about it. My slow cooker though is very small, a remnant from the days when there was only the 2 of us. I could always do it in the village oven though, if you can send me the recipe, I'd appreciate it. BTW lunch today is courgettes, onions, garlic in tomato sauce, with rice or chips and maybe I'll fry some eggs as well. Best wishes Angela Cyprus
