Years ago The Swinging Blue Jeans came and did a dance for our Cricket Club. They also signed their latest record at the local record shop in the afternoon and afterwards, as I was Secretary of the C C, came back to my house for something to eat and to wait for the dance. Merely name dropping here !!!! During the chat they mentioned Chip Butties and Norman, the drummer, had to explain what they were. After that my kids kept asking for them. 20 years on my daughter came back from uni and she makes them with crisps instead. Maggie Searching for: KENT: Bicker, Miller, Spratt, Marsh NOTTS: Bicker
Hope we're not going to start the great "proper chips" debate again - although, I don't know... perhaps .... Jam butties are the big thing in Liverpool, as well as chip butties. My children were never allowed to say "butty". Of course, we came from Knotty Ash, quite close to the Jam Butty Mines. But some grow up fairly nice, I suppose. Pity Victor had to go. We complain about kids, don't we? But we forget, they are our doing and upbringing. Did we really do it right?
