    3. I ask myself this question often Maggie - only been here just over a year, came from Pakistan where I spent a few years. It all began in the 80's in London......................... I am in Jeddah what about your friend? Yesterday a car bomb exploded in Riyadh - a British couple - the husband died in hospital, the wife was not injured but has suffered serious breakdown. I hope this is not the start of another anti-Brit/USA campaign I had my share of this in Pakistan where I lived almost on the Indian border. After The Great Flood all is drying up. A flash flood in a Wadi near here yesterday killed a family of seven - this doesn't happen often but you cannot escape apparently -a wall of water over 10ft just 'appears' - a bit like the Severn Bore I guess. Knowing Bedouins never camp in a valley area always higher, whatever the weather. It is said if you can see the water coming it is too late. Normally it's around 40c daily higher in the Summer - humidity often 100% - electricity is cheap so it's AC's always.
