    1. [NTH-ENG] Low number of e-mails? and Miscellaneous comments
    2. I don't know about anyone else, but in the past few days I've received over 1000 e-mails from my various lists. A good portion of them were from Northern-England (probably close to half). I hope everyone is well, as I've been offline for a few days. A couple of general remarks: Still no president-elect in the United States; waiting for the Flori-duh Supreme Court to decide which votes they're going to allow from the hand recounts. (I wish Gore would just give in and concede already!) So sorry to hear about Australia's rainy weather. Our biggest problem here has been the snow; in the northern part of our state, they were expecting nearly a foot of snow again yesterday and today, after a foot had already fallen. (Becky, are you buried under snow? Haven't seen you online recently?) But Buffalo, New York, has had nearly four feet (at least those are the numbers the news is broadcasting) of snow in the past several days. Lake effect, and all that, but the mayor closed the roads to any driving and the news reports say people (school children included) had to spend the night in grocery stores and at school because the busses could take them anywhere. However, they're used to snow up there, and since it's so late in the year, it can't be effecting the economy like the rain in Australia is. Best wishes to all there, and everywhere where the rains have been pouring down like the Great Flood. Our Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so much for my diet! Basically a get-together where the women cook like fiends so we can all eat like fiends and then the men go and watch football (American style) on TV while the women clean up like fiends and then gossip like fiends. The good news is, I also have Friday off of work, so I can catch up on my e-mail if I'm too busy cooking on Wednesday and too tired on Thursday to read it! Looking forward to lots of exciting mail from my fellow listers, as always!
