Yes you can go back and reboot from an earlier clean successful one: when Windows 98 starts to install and says "Hit delete to set up", do it, then select 5 Command Prompt Only. Type in, scanreg \restore Enter, select earlier one by date and Enter. Once rebooted if you made any modifications since that date to any settings, redo to bring you up to scratch. Hey Presto.
