I have an 8x11 photo copy of an old street map from the early 1900's of the docks off Regent Rd. from Salisbury Dock to Carriers Dock and all the way back to Stanley Park. I know my map is only a small section but very detailed with old street names but I don't see a Salsbury St. But then again it might be on here and I just can't see it for looking to hard? Other kind people from Northern have assisted me with other street names near Salisbury, but I don't see those related streets either, so I am assuming my sad little map is not large enough for me at this time to see the co-ordinance of the distance between where my ancestors once lived (Aspinall St. Kirkdale) to where 1 Union Terrace, Salisbury St.is. But that still will not tell me if 1 Union Terrace Salisbury St. was a residence or a sheltering home for orphans. I guess at 8 years old you won't remember if it was a residential home or a sheltering home site back in 1901? Your map would be greatly appreciated to sort the distance between the two areas.
