    1. [NTH-ENG] BT CHARGES
    2. Marged
    3. For the interest (I hope) of Brian and anyone else who has BT for an ISP. Because I use Surftime, I don't get charged for any dial-ups so long as I make them during the appointed hours. If I dial up any other time, it costs me 5p per dial-up then 2p per minute (I think it's 2p - hope it's only 1p). If I dial up outside Surftime hours, I have to be careful to change the setting on the dial-up box from Surftime to Pay, otherwise I get charged 5p for nothing. I discovered this when we got our last phone bill, as I had made a lot of mistakes and paid 5p per time. Very often in the morning, if I don't get up to let the mail download before 8am, I dial up on PAY. This will allow me to get my Marged mail and then change identities to my Marj mail, which it allows in, but it will not allow me to send any mail unless I re-dial. There is obviously some sharp practice here somewhere, especially since there is always SOMETHING in the morning mail that I want to reply to, to I do re-dial. BT have now offered yet another service which is All Day surfing which they say is going to cost £14.95 per month, but the last time they said this, I found I would have had to pay an extra £20 per month for an acceptable ISP, as mine (BT) did not support the new service. I have my name down to receive further details of this service, and will have to work out the new costs. MARGED --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. How daft can they get, btinternet.com not being suitable for their own service. No wonder my server will have nothing to do with them. We just have a BT service feature that allows unlimited voice calls after 6 pm and all weekend for a fixed monthly sum. I love my server, never a bit of trouble.
