I enjoyed your web site, Dave. You are right about the age on marriage certificates. The ones in my family have no resemblance to the actual ages. In one case everyone was underage for marriage so I suspect that is why the ages were inflated. It's gallery 1 from the Picture Gallery link. This is a "tin plate" photo of about 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 " depicting my great grandmother and 4 children. We think that we are looking at 4 boys , despite the dress of the child on gg's lap. This puts the picture as pre 1881. There's also a picture of "the Oracle" and her only surviving brother and sister from a family of 16. We currently know only 13 children , but we're working on the other 3 at £6.50 a guess ! The URL is http://212.19.69.91/ancestors/ Please bear in mind that this is "work in progress" and may contravene the data protection act , and the "shape of bananas maximum curvature EEC directive". If anybody can identify the "unknown boys" - hello cousin !
