Hi all, Thomas Seward wrote and published a poem called "Jesus". The author was what may be described as a liberal in a high church conservative Petworth during the second half of the nineteenth century. Seward was very much involved in the establishment and subsequent management of a local working man's institute and went to great lengths to promote free libraries for the masses. As far as Petworth is concerned Seward and his poem are of immense importance. I am trying to solve the riddle of his pseudonym, T.O.O.N. and trace a copy of the Poem for a gentleman, Miles of Petworth. Does any one know of this Poem please and especially have a copy they could kindly forward to me. Many thanks. Regards, Mikey. Spectemur Agendo.
