I used to go to the shop at the top and get 3 wafer ice creams and that lunch time, we put the ice cream on our plate with a pie, cut into the pie and out came all these ants!!!!! Happy days. I've got a book called "You Have a Minute, Lord?" by David Kossoff, in which he has a poem written to his beloved son, Paul, a guitarist of some note, who died from drugs in about the 70s. Thanks Marj I was racking my brain trying to remember "The Larkins" . David Kossoff died fairly recently, If my 1 remaining brain cell remembers correctly. Remember the stories he used to narrate ? Also in the film - Irene Handel ( Handl ? ). In this film as a shopkeeper. Customer ( another actress who used to play scatty women ) asks for some cheese. Irene cuts a sliver and gives it to the woman. She tastes it and spits it out ...... Irene just says very deadpan "that'll be the soap then" , and cuts a piece from the other bar on the shelf ! Good job we know who we are...lol. We could always call ourselves M1 M2 and M3... Reminds me of when the kids were small ..... how many times did you get their names wrong. I even get into trouble now cos I start with the dog and cats and then get to the kids names ...lol Our old postmistress said that she was going to just call hers by numbers but said she still got in a muddle. Glad you remember them Marion, They were smashing - I used to go down to the river lunchtime and buy one to have with my lunch. That is until the headmaster put a stop to "going out" for lunch.
