Wednesday, as you know, is Lucy Day. She arrives at 8.30 am and walks in saying "I need 'Joseph' on" or "Where's my Grandad gone?" (in bed, asleep of course, where I'd be if you were not on the step all bright eyed and bushy tailed). So she comes in and we put Joseph on, thanking God for Donny Osmond and Joan Collins. Lucy's mum rings up this morning and says: She brought all your fridge magnets home in her bag yesterday, and I forgot that she brought your Breton dictionary last week". We have just bought a Sony Radio/CD/tape player for £45. It has a digital memory for setting the clock and radio, 4.5W output from two speakers (it's a ghetto blaster). Got it from Argos - it was last year's model (just like me) and my daughter saw one in Edinburgh, rang up the Southport shop to check that they had one, and reserved it for me to go and pick up. Unfortunately for her, she had bought the exact same model in the same place for her husband last Christmas and it was £90.
