    3. Hi Glenda, Scouse, a nickname given to the people of the Mersey region as there, in Liverpool and Birkenhead, is the melting pot for all comers. Here the Irish settled and mad a stew, the Welsh settled and made "Lobscouse", a stew with everything thrown in, both cheap and easy to make and a great comfort food. hence the title "Scouser" = coming from that area where scouse is made. Bwyty, roughly pronounced boo it tu and meaning food as translated from the Welsh. You see, I'm not even a pretty face, and for those reading this, my nose is still big and sore (feels like someone is playing rugby up there, and yes, you can all call me a pachyderm!!! 1. [NTH-ENG] Re: Long John Baldry
    2. Kostas & Angela Nicolaou
    3. It wasn't until Dave reminded me of the songs of his that I remembered what he actually sang. When I was little, my nan owned a 3 story boarding house at Central Pier, Wilton parade to be exact, and most of my summer holidays were spent there. My nan believed in children being seen but not heard, sometimes not even seen. 7.30 pm every night we were sent up to our room in the attic, where we would stay locked in until the next morning. The lady who came every morning was none other than Long John Baldrey's mother. She was my nan's cleaning lady, while he was living it up. She always collected all the comics and old magazines that the guests had left when she cleared their rooms. They were really welcomed by us as we were so bored in there. The room only had one bed, a dressing table and a chamber pot. Every night my sister and I used to bounce up and down on the bed, making funny faces in the mirror of the dressing table. We found a spare set of keys in the drawer of same, and finally found a way out. Every night after that, we would sneak out for a wander around the house. Until one morning nan decided to wake us up with Uncle Arthur in tow, and instead of unlocking the door, she was locking it. We had forgotten to lock it ! We just played dumb. Then Uncle Arthur in his strong Northern accent bellowed...... "WHO'S DONE TORPEDO IN POT ? " It want me it were er........honest :) Best wishes Angela Cyprus

    3. Thanks Penny, I must try cooking that, sounds nice. I only eat meat that is slow cooked and falls off the fork. We are not buying beef in our house at the moment as our Government has just admitted that they have been importing French Bull sperm and injecting it into our cows, so until they publish the report, we are playing safe. Mind you it would be too late by now. Thanks for the invite, might take you up on it one day, when I am free to travel. Hubbie and I haven't even had a honeymoon yet :) Best wishes Angela Cyprus

    3. Remember that test message I sent ? well OE allows me to compose the message, it then brings up a window saying something wrong with my pop server etc.etc.. and in the meantime it has sent the message ! Then when I go to close OE my computer freezes, won't allow me to shut down normally or end task. Only way is to re-boot every time which is annoying. Can I uninstall OE some way, and then reinstall it without re-installing the whole of Windows ? Best wishes angela Cyprus

    1. Re: [NTH-ENG] Re: Happy Thanksgiving
    2. Angela, Thank you for the holiday wish. I, for one, had a wonderful day with all my children & my grandchildren here. We have had many things to be thankful for this year & it was pleasant that we could share this with the whole family. My little house was full, though. It is comfortable for 4 people, BUT I had 9 adults (myself included) & 3 children---very close quarters, but a GOOD FEELING! Now I am looking forward to Christmas!! 1. [NTH-ENG] That Mad Cow
    2. Marged
    3. I can't make up my mind whether I want to be one of the sane few when everyone else has enjoyed the beef and gone mad, or to be one of the mad ones, not knowing or caring. After my Steak Tartare incident it will most likely be the latter - so, "bonnets over the windmill"! | We are not buying beef in our house at the moment as our Government has | just admitted that they have been importing French Bull sperm and | injecting it into our cows, so until they publish the report, we are | playing safe. | Mind you it would be too late by now. | |
