Aint defeated any purpose Jim, Mind you yer might have a point there, EEC free range chukkie eggs aint what they are reckened to be, a load of Myth. But I would rather have eggs and meat from free rangers outside my back door that have eaten rats and ever other goddarn thing, rambling free, healthy and happy than that rubbish. There free range and free range none of them are Farmyard free. I'l call my first one Tonto, it will be a Rhode Island Red for sure. Found this on the www. written ages ago re.Sprintlink service. SING TO THE TUNE OF 'LET IT SNOW' Oh, the network outside is frightful, But on campus, it's so delightful, Our packets have nowhere to go, Net is slow, net is slow, net is slow. It doesn't show signs of stopping, All our packets, our hosts are dropping; Bandwidth is turned way down low, Net is slow, net is slow, net is slow. When we finally connect to a site, It's time to go back to the dorm; But if I could stay here all night, I could submit their Web form. The network is slowly dying, And, I fear, we're still denying, But as long as Sprint is the way to go, Net is slow, net is slow, net is slow. Dear All, I received this from another list and thought you might like it. Glenda The world would be so much better, If all our records were kept in one place, If each Surname was in a single database If all of our histories were easy to trace If the government had taken better care, If now, all of the censuses were still there. If a signature labeled every photo's face. If old paper copies would never fade If initials had never been all the rage, If every available record was offered free. If mom and dad had offered a key. If women had been considered as a 'we' Internet Genealogy would be rid of me!
Better start running, Danny! | Hi all, | found this on the web, Hope you like it. | | Heaven | Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, the Archangel Gabriel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look Gabriel, look what I've made." Archangel Gabriel looked puzzled and said, "What is it?" "It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put Life on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance." "Balance?" inquired Gabriel, still confused. God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, North America will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while South America is going to be poor. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people.," God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice." The Archangel, impressed by! | God's work, then pointed to a small populated area in the land of Great Britain and said "What's that?" "Ah," said God. "That's Merseyside, the most glorious place on Earth. There's a beautiful river, glorious parks, and buildings, great music and world dominating football teams. The people from Liverpool are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found traveling the worldas expatriats. They'll be extremely sociable, hard-working and high-achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace." Gabriel gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there will be balance!" God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the lazy, arrogant, b'stards I'm putting next to them in Manchester." | Tongue in cheek folks especilly jim | Danny | | | ==== NORTHERN-ENGLAND Mailing List ==== | ENG-DURHAM-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com | A mailing list for those whose ancestors moved between County Durham and | Yorkshire, discussion of the history and migration of the region as well as for people looking for ancestors in either County. | | --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I know what you mean - I feel the same about the LIVERPOOL GENEALOGY list - a lot of it is very interesting to me, but some can be quickly read and passed over, and I hardly ever reply to anything. Marged | Hi again, When I said I don't read them all I should have said that as I | am on several lists, for example the Yorksgen one, and if there is | something about say Sheffield, for instance, I don't read it as I don't | have an interest in that area so there's not much point. I can cut out | lot's that way. | This list is a bit harder as there's a variety of discussions going on and | I don't want to miss anything!!!!! | | Bye for now, | Trish. | | At 08:21 PM 11/25/00 -0000, you wrote: | >Hi Trish - I do read them all, but I don't feel compelled to answer them | all, as | >some of them are not really for me anyway. | > | >Have a nice day now. | > | >Marged | > | > | >----- Original Message ----- | >From: Trish Michael <gmichael@acay.com.au> | >To: <NORTHERN-ENGLAND-L@rootsweb.com> | >Sent: Saturday, November 25, 2000 8:13 PM | >Subject: [NTH-ENG] 115 messages | > | > | >| >Lovely, isn't it Brian. Hi Danny, I thought I would take a new page to reply to your very eloquent writing. I am particularly interested to read about AJP Taylor's roots, as he ended up living somewhere around here, in Royal Birkdale. I don't think it was a grand place, but a very nice Victorian house, all the same. I know from what research I have done that what you write is almost a common story in Liverpool. My answer was to something Mikey said but he was referring to something completely different - we had been talking about the use of animals for food.
