Don't try to fit a quilt cover on your own! Take advice from one who knows. I was lost for three days when I went inside mine! Isn't this weather a pain. I will never vote for this government again. You would think they would have special buses to get us to the pubs! BTW, Jean, did I thank you for the Christmas card. I hope so but if not I'll say thank you now. Brian B Lancashire, UK. Hi Jim, Very pleased to hear about your find, Jim. I know what it's like being so absent minded I lose something almost every day. When I started on the Horwich/Westhaughton area mine cost me about £27 I seem to remember. I suppose your batch of fiche [fishes] doesn't cover the Gorton area by any chance? My parents were there by the 1930's but I don't know if any of the family was there before that. My father moved in from Warrington and my mother from Horwich so I assume [there's that fatal word] that they met in Manchester. Brian B Lancashire, UK. Good morning Northern List. The snow is still here in Southport. Quite nice for those kids who have toboggans, but not many hills around here. They usually go to the sand hills at the Royal Birkdale Golf Course, five minutes away from us. In fact, we are only five minutes away from wonderful golf courses in any direction - Hillside, Formby, Ainsdale. Pity we don't play! There certainly won't be a shop in Southport where you can go out and buy a toboggan, or sled! Will (almost) certainly be off line all day today as getting ready to go away and have to go out in the car to practice driving in snow. MARGED --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Though I haven't been able to talk much online (or off for that matter & my kids have thoroughly enjoyed it!), I have been reading the entries & enjoying them all. Let's see, Christmas & health....both could have been better, but could have been worse, too! My d-in-law had one of her half hour fits (she has 2 every hour/24 hours a day) & I didn't get to see the kids. Probably won't for a long time as she has been ushered from my home for her attitude. I don't need it. The rest of my family was here, which I was thankful for. My kids were fit to be tied that she would have acted the way she did. The all helped to lighten the holiday for me somewhat, though. The holidays were a bit depressing this year due to d-in-law & health, but am hopeful the new year will be better. My business is doing okay so far, though fuel costs could be lower. Through all the bad weather, we are still moving. We are being overwhelmed with snow! Another few inches expected tonight & system snow for the holiday weekend. I am running out of places for my snow removal service to put it! There is so much snow that a compact car I have out back is totally buried. I have two 62 pickup's out there that are nearly buried. I am thankful I was able to put the convertible under cover or I'd have to wade snow clean up to ? just to clean it off. It has been very cold. Trucks & trailers are suffering from frozen lines & drivers must constantly be warned to use additives to keep fuel & airlines clear. Doesn't always work though. Everyone keep up the chat, it is good hearing of you all even if I can't chat for the moment. It is nearly 11:45 p.m. here & I must get some sleep. The morning will come early here again. TTFN! It would be nice to see the photograph. Quilting is catching on a bit here nowadays, although I think of it as a Canadian or American thing. Saw lots of displays in the Calgary region, both at the Stampede and at the Heritage Park. I notice I said ours was hand stitched - I believe it was, but I didn't examine it myself. Marged | Well mine was made by a volunteer locally. It is machine pieced. To speed it | up it was tied rather than quilted. Still the colours and design are lovely. | It is made out of cotton fine wale corduroy and cotton flannel on top with a | fine cotton backing. The materials are very good quality. we are | photographing it so I may send a photo someday. | | Jean in Nova Scotia | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Glenda R.
