    3. Hi Jean, This is great news ! I am very happy for you to be able to locate this information on your family. And photos, too ! What a special thing this is. You struck pay dirt ! It is such a good feeling when things turn up. I found a new cousin, too. I noted the name of PEET on one of the lists and wrote inquiring about this, and a lady wrote back and asked me what name was I looking for. Abigail PEET who was married to RIGGS (my ggggggrandparents). This lady said the brother of Abigail's father is her father ! She said she had all kinds of information... all completed ! Real nice lady...so now, another found cousin; this makes about six so far. She also has the information on the RIGGS side ! So, this has been a good week for the both of us ! Take care, Glenda >I have been getting email today. It has made up in quality any lack in >quantity. So far I have received census information for 1841 and 1851 for my >HADFIELD forebears. 3. I have been getting email today. It has made up in quality any lack in quantity. So far I have received census information for 1841 and 1851 for my HADFIELD forebears. Then I got an email from another Hadfield cousin with more information too.. There were photos of the gravestones of my GLEAVE Ggrandparents and several of their children with many complete birth and death dates. Also included was their farmhouse (built by my Henshall ggrand father) and the church they attended. These were taken by Bill Moston who has a website for Cheshire Churches. 3. Hi, Winnipeg reminded of a time in the 1950s when I got itchy feet when I saw an advertisement for miners which was what I did at that time. I applied to some proprietary company and they sent me the papers saying my experience was what they were looking for. I read them and then approached my wife who shot it down immediately. Apparently the location was Northern Manitoba, the only way in was by light aeroplane and we got two weeks back in Winnipeg every six months. We were guaranteed a log cabin to ourselves and the ore was I think lead. I really fancied that job. I presume that it is not usual for that amount to fall in one day. The temperatures have hovered around freezing all day again today. At least I managed to get the shower working again. For some reason the hot water supply to it freezes. I live in an old house, no felt under the tiles so the wind blows straight in and out again. The pipes are lagged well but for some reason this particular pipe will freeze as it crosses the cold water pipe as it stands up a bit. Anyway we think we have sorted it this time - I have turned the heating up so the landing is quite warm now and I have put the heating on in my son's bedroom. I usually keep the radiator's turned to the defrost setting but my middle son pointed out it was false economy to only keep low heat in an unused room and then have to pay a plumber to repair a burst pipe!!! I think what he was really complaining about was the fact that to get in the roof you have to pull yourself up through the loft hatch and I can't do it easily now - so guess who I call for !!! It is a very small trap door - just wide enough to get your shoulders through diagonally. Maggie

We took him to A & E but they couldn't see anything and said it must have dropped out. A couple of years later, when he had his adenoids out as he was having a lot of bother, guess what they found!!! 3. I think I may have posted this before but here goes again. Speaking as we are of photographs there is a lovely free calendar to download from Bayfair Magazine at www.bayfair.co.uk When you are on the site select the NEWS link and you will find twelve beautiful coloured pictures of Robin Hood's Bay a lovely unspoiled fishing village on the coast of North Yorkshire. There is one for each month. I did the download, printed them out, punched two holes, affixed hole reinforcements, fitted one of those paper laces with tags on and hey presto! I've got a beautiful calendar which reminds me of a holiday I spent there four years ago. While we have had hard winters in the interim, in 1978 we had a surprise blizzard which lasted 3 days & literally everything's was shut down. When the weather broke, front-end loaders had to clear the way for traffic & main roads were barely passable for weeks. During the storm, people were stranded in places other than their homes with no provisions for a minimum of 3 days. Local restaurants were very popular as soon as these people were freed from their prisons. There were some that were trapped on oil rig sites out in the middle of nowhere, some of these were friends & family. One small box of provisions for 5 men did not last. By the time the front-end loaders got to these sites & the men drove out, the road was reduced to one lane with every quarter mile having a pull off for two-way traffic & the banks were so high you couldn't see over them. When I went to view the area, this was one spot that fascinated me. The banks were like huge white frozen walls. Took a lot of thawing that year to see ground again. I couldn't see out of my living room window, as the snow was so deep. It was peaceful, though. Becky Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG Anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
