Here are some fireworks for everyone not just Brian! :-))) Brian should turn his sound off. They were on the Cheshire list. 'You will also find some festive fireworks on my website.' Dear All, As we approach a new century, ( and those already enjoying the holiday) I wish you all, and yours, whatever you wish most for yourselves in the forthcoming year and those following. As I am sure that most members are lucky, warm and blessed, I forward these thoughts as reminders of how truly fortunate we are; as we start our New Year. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If your parents are still alive and still married you are very rare. If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not. If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ... you are blessed because you can offer healing touch. If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all. Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are. Happy New Year Regards, Mikey & Hey. Spectemur Agendo.
I am not really sure. We seldom get a lot at once. Generally we get between 1 and 4 inches. It lies around for two or three days. Then we get a thaw and it all disappears. Of course I am right by the sea so it is warmer here than the centre and north of Nova Scotia. The snow lasts better there. Occasionally we get 10 inches or so. That happens two or three times over the winter. We certainly don't get the snow that the Prairies get. Jean in Nova SCotia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenda R. Nova Scotia seems to get snow and other storms from the south all the time. I suspect snow comes down south from the prairies but up the Eastern Seaboard. We also get big storms from Ontario and Quebec. Poor us! We are always being dumped on. :-)))) Jean in Nova Scotia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenda R. Isn't it wonderful. My new cousins seem very nice too. Today's email brought the 1891 census for the Hadfields and 2 each birth and marriage certificates for Hadfield ancestors. Its going to be hard to keep this up. However my cousin, Peter, has remined me that the 1901 census is due to be released very soon. Jean in Nova Scotia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenda R. I really must defend myself. I was the one who was SOBER and "Happy Birthday" sounded like "We Three Kings" to me. Still it can't last. The voice will do a MacArthur on us soon enough. BTW, Pam, how did you go on with your CD Writer? Brian B Lancashire, UK. Happy New Year to all. Goodmorning Thought I would fill in a few minutes to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year. As Brian would tell you, I am finding it easier to type than to talk at the moment, although I just about managed two lines of HAPPY BIRTHDAY, when I spoke to him yesterday. [He rang from the pub would you believe!!] In other words I've lost my voice! Still I am giving everyone a break from listening to me chat. I would also like to tell you, in case you don't already know, about a marvellous project called Archive CD Books. Take the time to visit the home page and read all about it, it's a very worth while project in my opinion and as family historians we should support it. The url is, for those of you who don't know about it, http://www.archivecdbooks.com/ I have also just volunteered for the FREEBMD project. This is the project to put all birth, marriages and deaths since 1837 on line. This is going to be so useful to all of us and everyone can join in, you don't need a micro fiche reader according the web page. The url for this is http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ Hope you all find this interesting, and maybe a couple of you could join in the above and so speed up this project. Happy New Year and good luck with your researching. Very best wishes, Pam Stoke on Trent
