I remember that in the winter of 1962 /3 it started snowing just after Christmas and carried on until March. The weatherman kept forecasting a thaw but it didn't come. I believe the records show three months of snow....unheard of. there was also another year, early 80s, when we had heavy snow on the 21st Dec (I remember because it was my birthday and we were having a party....still had it too but a few people couldn't make it) and that lasted a few weeks. The following year we moved into an old house and that Christmas, because I only had a small fridge, I put the turkey on a shelf in the pantry which had an air brick top and bottom instead of a window. It started snowing Christmas night and then froze hard. We were out on Boxing Day and when I took the turkey out the following day it was frozen on one side as I had put it near the bottom airbrick!! 2. Oooooooh Coral, hot sun....sand...sea...but perhaps 100F is a bit high...a nice 75F so that I could sit in the garden. I just hope that this summer is better than last and we get some nice warm, dry weather. I know what you mean about the snow. We haven't had a decent fall here since the early 80s and, like you, I enjoy walking in it. There is something nice about coming back in, face tingling and sitting in front of a roaring fire. Maggie

    3. This morning dear hubby says "how about we go see if those digital cameras you liked are in the MAKRO sale" then we looked out the window LOL so no camera to take any pics:-( Thanks heavens no one was hurt when the roof collapsed, makes you realise how dangerous life can be. Their was a local tragedy here on Friday when a 21yr old young man was killed at work, he was dragged into a vertical boring machine. His family are devastated, I don't know them but my husband and son knew the lad . TTFN Marion just read my mail and hope I haven depressed you all :-( <<<<<We too have more snow. It is hard to see the road when backing out the driveway. I am planning to take a picture soon. Yesterday the roof of a skating arena here collapsed. It had 3 feet of snow on the roof. The arena staff had not been able to clean it off because of bad weather. Fortunately no one was hurt although there were 100 people in the rink at the time - including two hockey teams playing a game.

Hi Gang, I can't say the reply to setting really bothers me, its just a question of getting used to which list has which setting :-) To be fair Mike didn't have much choice but to alter it if folk where using personal messages to criticise another subscriber then it's only right they should do so off list JMHO . We got SNOW here loads of it all white and wet and blowing about the place, lovely to look at but maybe wont be so nice when it's work time tomorrow LOL ttfn Marion

    3. Afternoon Maggie, Thanks, when I get a mo I'll look out the cleaner jokes in my file ! Re the list - most people, including me, are used to hitting "Reply" . In most cases that meant Northern-L , with the exception of Mikey and one or two others where the sender's e-mail used to always appear ( no idea why ) ........ Now the senders address always appears, with the result that I've received messages that were probably for the list ...... Reply All puts up the sender's email and the list, at least on my OE5 - it may differ for others ! I definitely don't see my own address when I do reply all. Lunch calls - stomach thinks my throat's cut !
