*On 5 March 2014 23:18, Nivard Ovington So how do you know the George with the SMITHs in 1911 is your George?* Hi Nivard and Veneita Trying to collate what info there is I find:- Famly Search 1911 index George Stevens b Monmouthshire Residence Eglwysilan, *Llanbradach *Glamorganshire Wales Pontypridd was the registration district for Llanbradach [only about 9 miles away] and the marriage to Hannah E[mily] Carruthers in 1912 and subsequent births of 2 children and death of 1 were also reg Pontypridd so it seems likely that it is the correct George in 1911 census. Also a Smith a witness at marriage as per 1911 census household. I know this doesn't help with birth for George or Dorothy although there are birth entries in Cardiff - George 1892 Sep 11a 362 and Dorothy Alice 1896 Mar 11a 396 which may or may not be of any relevance! Re: Dorothy and son Stanley - there are 3 Stanleys b mother Stevens in Welsh reg districts [Bedwelty and Pontypridd] 1916 - 1920 but none match a marriage to a Dorothy. Of course she could have married anywhere and later in life. Veneita if you have the time and inclination you coud use FreeBMD to find all the Stanley births mother Stevens and use his surname to check marriages - ouch quite a job. Cheers Jean > >
