Hi Neita I was going to ask what the 1911 census reference was but have just found him as Gorge STEVENS age 19 a colliers helper born Monmouthshire As the 1911 was filled in by the head of household and George was a boarder, I wonder how sure you can be of his birthplace, given the George STEVENS registered in Monmouthshire can be discounted as they are still around in 1911 On the 1912 marriage, what occupation did George give, and you say the father is recorded as deceased but no name? Very odd, the deceased I can understand but no name suggests he was illegitimate and didn't know who his father was Were there any connected witnesses?
