Hi I am writing to provide an update on the 1871 census transcription project. Three further pieces have been uploaded to the on line database and are now searchable for free on the main freecen site at http://www.freecen.org.uk These are pieces: RG10/1814 Conisford which covers the parishes of Norwich, St Julian, St Etheldred, St Peter Southgate, St John Sepulchre, Trowse Millgate, Carrow, Bracondale. RG10/1818 West Wymer which covers the parishes of Norwich, St Andrew, St John Maddermarket, St Gregory, St Lawrence, St Margaret, St Swithin, St Michael At Thorne. RG10/1822 West Wymer which covers the parishes of Norwich, St Benedict, Heigham, Earlham This means that there are now 381,304 (91.3%) 1871 Norfolk census records available to search free on line. Many thanks to all the volunteers who have kindly given up their free time to assist with the project without their help this information would not be available.
