Hi again, the CWGC site says John William Frost , MC , 2nd Lt Northamptonshire Regt, d 1919 . The London Gazette says 2nd Lt ( A /Cpt) ALBERT John Frost, MC , Northamptonshire Regt d 1919.. .Oh dear ......This is a decision for King Solomon, I think we are allright to claim him up to his death in 1919 at Roehampton.....but I am not sure our boy had the MC ......maybe I should just make a note.....poss MC ? life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=///
Hi again Does the extract I gave you predate the one you found for Albert ? ie is it another man entirely Supplement to the London Gazette 17th January 1919 (p)873 North'n R - 2nd Lt. J.W. Frost, M.C., to be Lt. 8th Oct. 1918. Lt. J.W. Frost, M.C., is placed on the h.p. list on account of ill health caused by wounds. 18th Jan 1919. (h.p. = Half Pay) Looking at the CWGC there are no Albert FROST deaths listed for 1919 for any regiment, neither is there an Albert FROST in soldiers died for 1919 Northants Regt Newspapers are prone to mistakes, so the Albert could be a mistake if there is other evidence to link the two gazette extracts However there is a medal card as follows for an Albert John FROST who was an acting Captain British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 about Albert John Frost Name: Albert John Frost Regiment or Corps: Highland Light Infantry, Northumberland Fusiliers, Northamptonshire Regiment Regimental Number: 10757, 10757, 10757 I would say the Albert is an entirely different man Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 03/03/2014 11:29, elizabeth howard wrote: > Hi again, the CWGC site says John William Frost , MC , 2nd Lt > Northamptonshire Regt, d 1919 . I am still only on G and have the rest to do !!!! life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Rust" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 03, 2014 4:50 PM Subject: Re: [NFK] JOHN W FROST > Had another ferret round > A John William Frost married Vera Thompson 4/4 1918 she was the only Vera > as > far as I could see who fitted the age criteria was registered Tynemouth > 4/41896 maybe all coincidences. > > Bob > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "elizabeth howard" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Monday, March 03, 2014 11:29 AM > Subject: [NFK] JOHN W FROST > > > Hi again, the CWGC site says John William Frost , MC , 2nd > Lt > Northamptonshire Regt, d 1919 .
