    3. Hi Karen, Not sure if anyone has access to the early Wormegay parish records, the last time I heard they were still held by the vicar. I see some of the baptisms have now been transcribed and on line but only from about 1800. I found only one Bird in the quick look I had, Ann Elizabeth Bird baptised Wormegay 27th May 1827, daughter of John Bird and his wife Mary. John was a miller. Wormegay was (and still is) a small village that stands alone. In all the years I have been researching that village I haven't come across the name Bird as one of the regular inhabitants but then i haven't gone back as far as you need to. In the past I have contacted the vicar, who is Father James Nolan, The Rectory, Downham Road, Watlington, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE33 OHS. He has searched records for me on a number of occasions, successfully. He does ask you to make a donation to church funds for this service which is fair enough. I have trawled the gravestones in the cemetery many times over the years, can't remember seeing the Bird name, but doesn't mean there weren't any. In many, many years I have found very few people who share my interest in this village. I have school records for a period when some of my ancestors attended, it was interesting to see their names in the punishment book, and also read that there were times when they couldn't attend because they had no shoes.
