But it is no distance! Eleven or twelve miles -a change of employer, change of farm tenancy etc -I am assuming farmer/farm worker as occupation if they are out in a fen-first job at Parson Drive, out to Outwell or Bardolph fen and then back to Murrow where there appears to be a lot of Wilsons. Am I getting confused? This came from Ancestry Elizabeth Masson Age: 51 Estimated birth year: abt 1850 Relation to Head: Wife Gender: Female Spouse: Henry Masson Birth Place: Bartle Fen, Cambridgeshire, England Civil Parish: Bradford Ecclesiastical parish: Bradford St Peter County/Island: Yorkshire Country: England Which puts Bartle Fen in Cambridgeshire. Piece: 4153 Folio: 182 Page Number: 1 Household schedule number: 1 The route was convouted but stated with a Search under the terms "Bartle Fen" which returned 5 results two for Masson (I went via Elizabeth C and then edited the search by removing C from the name) The Indianapolis news gave 26 references but I don't like to risk my credit card.... Intriguing problem. David On 30 March 2014 15:42, <[email protected]> wrote: > But it is no distance! Not necessarily Dont forget the swapping of bits of Outwell or Upwell between Norfolk and Cambs. Would have to look again at the maps! But look at the same person on the 1911 - Bardolf Fen as birthplace. I rest my case : ) Rosie On 30/03/2014 18:03, David Mills wrote: > Am I getting confused? On the 1871 when the family was still in Walsoken she gives her birth place as Stow rather than Bartle fen. The name is Massen rather than Masson but it is the same family. On the 1891 she gives Stow Bridge. Rosie On 30/03/2014 18:03, David Mills wrote: > Am I getting confused?
