    3. Hi, A John FARROW m. Rose Elizabeth CLAYTON Q1 1899 Sheffield, and they had 11 children, 8 being in baptised in Wombwell St Mary and they appear there with parents as John & Rose, John & Rose Elizabeth, but also as ‘Albert John’ & Rose Elizabeth. In the 1901 & 1911 census he appears as John, and with birthplace as New Walsingham, Nfk c. 1873. Does anyone have access to Walsingham bap registers to see who this John’s parents might be ? I cannot spot an obvious entry for him in 1881 or 1891 census, but the family may have migrated to Yorkshire prior to 1881 TIA John E farrow

    3. There's an Albert in 1881, aged 14, in the Hull area shown as born Snettisham, Norfolk with parents William (butcher) and Susan both b Beeston, Norfolk - also siblings Ashley 12, Augusta 7, and Ernest 5. In 1891, in Kingston upon Hull, there's an Albert 25 born Snelsham (sic) Norfolk, grandson of Robert & Fanny Claxton (could this be a mis-transcription by the enumerator?) 3. Hello John There is a birth registration for a John William FARROW in Free BMD. JQ 1874 Walsingham 4b 296. The obvious way to find out who his father was is to send for a copy of his birth certificate. Of course if he was illegitimate his father (unless he was taking responsibility for the child) would not have been named. In the 1881 census there is a John Farrow with parents William and Maria Ann and many older siblings living in Norwich - and the father is recorded as having been born in Hull, Yorkshire. As you say the family migrated to Yorkshire maybe this is a good clue for you to follow up. Good luck in your searching!
