    3. Hello, My wife was born in July 1941 in the Emergency maternity hospital, Stow Bardolph. Her mother had been evacuated to Billingford. Can any one give me some information about this hospital? Perhaps there is a place I can write to for information? thank you for any help in this matter. DaveH

    3. This was Stow Bardolph Hall I think, associated with the Hare family. My grandmother was there as a convalescent in the early 1970s but it has now closed. I had thought it came into use during WW1 as many big houses did, but I now suspect it might have been used for emergency maternity purposes as early as 1900 because a great uncle seems to have been born in Stow Bardolph even though the family was living in Upwell and no relatives in Stow. Try posting on the Kings Lynn local forum web page is all I can suggest. I can't think of any organisation which would carry the history. Rosie. 3. The Hare Family papers are in Norfolk Record Office. It could help if you are able to look through those papers.
